Mary McLean was convicted at Glasgow, Scotland on 29 April 1837 for theft - stealing wearing apparel from a dwelling house. Previous conviction and prison. 7yr sentence. Transported to Van Diemen's Land (Tasmania) on the ship 'Atwick' arriving 24 Jan 1838. Single woman; housemaid; aged 20yrs; 5'5 1/2". Native place: Tubber Morey. Various assignments in Colony, misconduct and time at Female House of Correction Hobart. Free Certificate no 479 1844
