Convict Notes
Richard was transported for stealing 3 ewes and 2 lambs from Richard Blanchard. Richard was then married to Mary Simpson and had at least 4 children. Two years earlier Richard had been convicted of the theft of two quarters of oats and bran at Howden, the property of Robert Dickons, Druggist - Richard at that time was listed as a victualler. Indented to Samuel Marsden. 31/3/1813: CP - he was also granted a plot of land at Emu Plains. 9/2/1807: Married Mary Burnett nee Beasley (William Pitt 1806) at Parramatta. 2/2/1838: Richard died aged 63 at Cartwright's Creek NSW and is buried at Goulburn. Daughter Sophia Elizabeth Newham married Adam Taylor (Baring 1818).
