Wilts Quarter Sessions. The calendar contained the names of prisoners for trial—a greater number than for many years past at these sessions.—The following prisoners were tried and convicted :—Michael Russell, for stealing three cows at West Harnham, the property of Mr. Sutton—transported for life. James Russell, indicted with his father for the above offence, was acquitted. Salisbury Journal, 4 July 1836. On Thursday last, the following convicts were removed from Fisherton gaol, and out on board the York hulk, at Gosport:—Michael Russell, James Mead—for Life. Adam Eatwell, George Watkins, for Fourteen years. William Raines, Daniel Richens, John Francis, Henry Wicks, John Holloway, and John Atkins—for Seven years each. Salisbury Journal, 1 Aug 1836.
