18 years old when she came to Australia. Married to a man named John Townsend in Launceston 21 April 1851. They had 11 kids.

Agnes Jane Townsend nee Turley is buried in an unmarked grave in the Wivenhoe Cemetery Burnie Tasmania. One of her children was my Great Grandfather Thomas.

National Records of Scotland Title Trial papers relating to Agnes Turley, Susan Kean for the crime of theft by housebreaking, habit and repute, and previous conviction. Tried at High Court, Glasgow Dates 11 May 1848 Accused Agnes Turley, Verdict: Guilty, Sentence: Transportation - 7 years. Note: Front of indictment has pannel as Ann Turley. Rest of indictment calls her Agnes. Possible error by clerk Susan Kean, alias McKean, Verdict: Guilty, Sentence: Transportation - 7 years. Susan Kean, alias McKean, Address: Havannah Street, Glasgow Agnes Turley, Address: Havannah Street, Glasgow Susan Kean was also onboard 'Cadet'. Agnes Turley was transported for 'Housebreaking and stealing wearing apparel'. Birth dates of 1831/32/30 found. Agnes was 4'11¾" tall, ruddy freckled complexion, brown har, light blue eyes, single, literate. 21/4/1851: Married John Townsend, aged 32 at St. Johns Church, Launceston. John Townsend was a Bounty immigrant. 6/7/1852: TOL 9/1/1856: Free Certificate, Circular Head.
